This blog is one vehicle for my continuing quest to define and share what it means to be a professional in the public facility custodian trades. I bring to the table experience from the front lines, over 30 years in facility cleaning; both public and private. I can tell you what it means to clean. I can tell you the difference between a janitor and a custodian.

Go ahead and ask around: Ask those 2 questions. You are welcome to post the answers you hear in the comments.

I also bring a Business Administration degree that focused on service and service quality. I bring experience from workshop development on the subject for the annual Wyoming Custodian Association Workshops & Tradeshow, as well as writing and producing newsletters and articles on this subject for the association.

This blog, along with a future website, are for you and I to share our knowledge, and experience. Out of this I hope to finally never hear;

I am just a …

I just do …

You are not “just” anything. We do not do “just” anything.

We are responsible for the health, safety, and facilitation of use, for millions of people who use our facilities in this great, free, welcoming, country every day.

Why aren’t we professionals?
